Established in 2002, Ciklum is a leading Danish supplier of technical personnel and teams, software development and agile business consulting to high growth companies globally. Ciklum currently employs more than 2500 specialists in our offices and technical development centers in Ukraine and Belarus.

Most recently Gartner Inc. named Ciklum as a “Cool Vendor” in its ‘Cool Vendors in Application Services, 2013’ report.

We believe in self-driven sharing of knowledge and experience. Having around 100 educational and social activities across all Ciklum locations each month, both for Ciklumers and global IT community, our aim is to create environment and atmosphere that stimulates professional and personal development for everyone involved.

On behalf of Zoomdata, Ciklum is looking for a talented and proactive Senior Software Engineer for Big Data Connectivity team to join Kiev team on a full-time basis.

We at Zoomdata recognize that today’s “big data” is tomorrow’s normal data, and it shouldn’t take a Data Scientist to make it useful. Zoomdata allows all users to explore and gain insights from a wide variety of data sources, visualizing billions of records in the blink of an eye. We turn data into knowledge, and we do it with an evolving, real-time perspective.

Zoomdata is looking for experienced software engineers who love data at a massive scale (terabytes to petabytes) and can write code that wrangles it into something meaningful.

Zoomdata’s query engine joins data from multiple sources to create virtual datasets that can be used in a variety of ways - like stunning visualizations! Unlike most analytics databases, Zoomdata’s query engine distributes queries to wherever the data resides, rather than requiring ETL into a data warehouse. Queries may be distributed to many different kinds of datastore, like RDBMS, HDFS, search engine, column store, document store, flat file, etc. Connecting to data in a smart way, bearing in mind the capabilities and limitations of each datastore, is essential.

Our back-end stack includes Apache Spark, Spring Boot microservices, Java 8 and whatever it takes to get data out of the source!

Unlike the traditional project outsourcing model, we help over 200 of our clients establish their own development centers in one of our nearshore development locations where they outsource, completely or partially, their software development. This is the equivalent of having your in-house IT specialists, but for a significantly lower cost and with less administrative nuisances.

Ciklum clients can gain control over their IT processes and systems and get more value from the resources they already have. We surround each client team with knowledge sharing activities to foster a profitable and productive work environment during their entire outsourcing experience, including social events, strong infrastructure, financial and administrative support, Q&A and Agile, Business and DevOps consulting services.
