Together with our customer, one of the leading energy providers in western Europe, we are pleased to invite You into the global research project related with the renewable (green) energy. Nowadays the large percent of total energy produced in some countries is so-called green energy: mainly solar and wind. It has the side effect: energy system may experience trouble within improper weather conditions. Providers have to use accumulated energy in order to keep all suppliers on-line which is very expensive. The goal of our project is to enable customer devices (like fridges, heaters, electro cars) accumulate more energy in advance when the weather forecast is getting worse. Our team implements the complete software for a part of the project: the intelligent energy meter. This device runs Linux (on Intel Atom or ARM platforms), have its own database and web-server. It may communicate with the central server over the Internet, client applications (desktop, iPod) and control customer devices.
The key requirements for this position are:
- 3+ years of commercial experience in software development
- Advance/expert knowledge of C++ (OOP, memory management, templates, error handling) and STL (containers, algorithms)
- Experience with one of the C++ libraries or frameworks (boost, Qt, PoCo, etc)
- Proficiency in multithreaded applications and interprocess communication
- Clear understanding of design patterns and their applicability
- Basic UML knowledge
- Linux programming
Desired but not mandatory:
- XP techniques (CI, TDD, pair programming, code review, etc)
- Experience of work in Agile/Scrum team
- Embedded know-how (ARM, U-boot, Embedded Linux)
- Basic Java knowledge (for automated functional testing)
Successful candidates should have good communication skills, mandatory ability to get things done, strong motivation and open-mindedness.
